Many casting personnel, agents and photographers log on to our web site when they are seeking talent, extras, and models for their projects in film, photography and even entertainment and promotional events. And yes we receive inquires for dogs, cats, cows, horses and more animals. They are not as frequent as inquires for people but we do get them. Example, we got in an inquiry for a horse to appear in a music video for a top ten band in California, recieved an inquiry for a television commercail for a Jack Russell Terrier posted on the site in New Jersey and many more come in for all sorts of projects. You just never know who will see you and when you will get requested. Casting personnel, photographers and agents look at the photos of our members on the web site. If they locate a member displaying on our site and they fit their requirements, the person casting will forward us an email with a request to contact that listed member. EFM casting department in turn will forward that email inquiry to the member with instructions to contact the production person regarding interest and to get more details of the project. |

What our web site does is display the photos and or resume for others seeking extras, models, entertainers, animals and pets. We do not book talent nor take any sort of booking fee for jobs. What are animal actors used for? Well, we have had inquiries for photography shoots for dogs, mules, horses and even a ferret to be the model or in the background with a model or models. In a film, there are animals needed for the background or horses to be ridden in a specific scene. If an animal listed on our site does (tricks) or can perform specific behaviors, they have been called upon to entertain at events, promotions and asked to come to schools and libraries. |

PHOTOS: Pets, like children grow so fast and change rapidly, we do not suggest that you take hundreds of dollars worth of pictures for this reason. However, we do suggest that the photos you display are clear and free from backgrounds such as living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. Grab your camera (NOT YOUR CELL PHONE CAMERA) and position your dog actor or cat model in a nice background such as a park or nice uncluttered background, keeping in mind that your objective is to show a close up of the talent not the background. If your pet has abilities and talents such as fetch, stay, jumping or agility, take pictures of them performing their specialties as your secondary pictures remembering that the main photo needs to be a close up of your pet. Lastly, KEEP your pets’ photos updated, and then take more photos when the picture you are displaying no longer represents how your dog actor or cat looks, time update them. There is nothing more frustrating to the person casting a project to see a photo and then when they meet at the audition, the animal no longer looks like the picture they saw on the web site. |

Most importantly write down the level of obedience your dog display, the specialties and tricks your pet can perform as well. One additional note, there are laws and regulations that govern the use of animals in the entertainment field and it varies from state to state. Be sure to keep updated on what if any licenses and laws you need to abide by. Many production projects will already know about these laws and be able to help you. List your contact information, the stats of your pets pedigree i.e. boxer, mastiff, sable ferret, boa snake and so forth. Include the color of the animals coat, the height, age of your pet and any markings. Create a good general description of your pet and it’s abilities.
